We left Seattle, both feeling like we wanted to stay and explore the city more. But we know that the trip must go on...we'll be back soon enough. For our last day there we took a water taxi out to West Seattle to view the stunning skyline of the city and ate gnocchi at a cute little Italian place on Capitol Hill. We were able to avoid rain in Seattle (for the most part) but it's not very likely that the rain is going to stay out of our way for the next few days. We arrived at Olympic National Park this afternoon, which is a preserved rainforest in the Olympic Peninsula of Washington. After driving in the fog and rain we took a hike up Hurricane Ridge. After a good drenching we drove around Port Angeles, where our Hostel was for the night. The town is very quaint and we were happy to have a warm bed to sleep in for the night instead of camping in the rain. Tomorrow we are venturing all over the park. More pictures soon!

ReplyDeleteIt looks so cold and wet there. I would ship the tent back if I were you! Have fun and be good.

I read somewhere recently that out of 365 days Seattle gets an average of 85 days of sunshine. Unfortunately, the rain is somewhat inevitable.
ReplyDeleteTy & Rachel: When you get to Portland, OR you gotta go to this place called Voodoo Doughnut. I've seen this place many many times on tv and have always wanted to go there. They specialize in making all sorts of creative doughnuts. Hunt it down for me!
