Thursday morning we woke up planning on going to Yellowstone, but weather and road conditions were really worrying us. After repeated calls to the ranger station and finding out that many roads were closed, we decided to take the chance anyway.
Good thing we did, because all of the roads that we wanted to go on ended up being open! We started out at Mammoth Hot Springs (the north entrance) and made our way through the park down to Old Faithful. The geysers and landscapes were really cool and the wildlife, inlcuding four elk laying in a circle around the Yellowstone Post Office, a bison running alongside the road, and a coyote at arms length away, were well worth the trip!
