Today we arrived at the Badlands of South Dakota! If we had to pick one word to describe this national park...well...we can't. Beautiful, gorgeous, astonishing, absolutely unbelievable, take your pick because any of these words will do. After a riveting 9 hours driving in the pouring rain, we were taken away by the incredible scenery and landscapes of the Badlands (where there is no longer rain!)
Not only were the landscapes spectacular, but the wildlife was pretty cool too!
Tonight we reside in a budget motel right outside the park. After checking into the room, we set off to find some grub. We punched in food into the GPS and there was nothing less then 20 miles away. Opting for the local townie bars we venture down the street into the town of Interior: Population 67. The town had two bars and we chose the Horseshoe bar. Walking in we noticed that 10 percent of the town was in the bar...six people. In the end we were given a frozen pizza and a couple beers because, well, that's all they had. After we finished eating and were entertained with some high quality dog tricks by the bars owner we made our way back to the hotel to call it a night. Tomorrow, we explore the rest of the badlands!
You had to go to the Badlands for frozen pizza and a beer, gee I could have given you that, but not the scenery! Continue.....I'm loving every bit of this. LY Gram
ReplyDeleteYour videos are hilarious, keep them up! That picture of the deer is deceiving and it makes it look like it only has two legs.
ReplyDeleteDon't be surprised if you see snow as you venture a little further west. A couple of days ago areas of the Rocky Mountains above 9,000 ft. got up to 1 foot of snow! Hope some nicer weather is in store for you as well.
I just checked to see where you guys are. Looks like you are moving right along. Great scenery pictures, Sounds like you are finding wonderful places to eat at!!! Come on nothing like school lunch!!!!! Hope the weather is keeping up with you both. Stay safe, I'll check in tomorrow with you.
