Breakfast with Abe Lincoln (and friends)

On Wednesday, we hit up Mount Rushmore. Rachel couldn't stop laughing when she saw it because it really is a tad bit strange. Especially driving on the interstate to get there, we were surrounded by trees and mountains. Then all of a sudden you take a turn around the corner of the highway and four huge heads pop out of nowhere! But when you get up close to it, it really is quite neat. Seeing so many pictures in magazines is cool but then getting right up close to it its pretty incredible.

In the afternoon we decided to make a stop at Deadwood. It's a cute typical old Western town, filled with a bunch of history...almost the way you would have pictured it, without the wagons and now with paved roads.

Next we made our way out to Billings, Montana. During the drive we went through extreme weather changes...from sleet and rain, to snow, to clear skies...We finally made it there! We had a very relaxing evening with Rhyno and his clan, who were very warm and welcoming and also gave us some great travel advice.
