The next day we took a wonderful bike ride around Daniel Island with Shoshanna. Later in the day she took us into town. We walked around the market and a bunch of little art galleries. We ended the day with a relaxing drink at the East Bay Meeting Place, where Sho introduced us to Sweet Tea Vodka- yum! We had a lovely time in South Carolina and can't wait to go back soon. Onward we went to Washington D.C...

A day at the Beach...In December!
After our stay in North Carolina we ventured back down to South Carolina. We stayed in Charleston (Daniel Island to be exact) with Rachel's old neighbors from Millis who moved down there about 12 years ago. It was great to be able to catch up with her old family friends! They live on Daniel Island, a very cute community with beautiful homes all around. We spent our first day checking out Isle of Palms and Folly Beach. We couldn't believe that we were at the beach in December! That evening Dael took us to see the Festival of Lights, which is miles and miles of Christmas lights. They had different structured scenes of light, such as Candyland, Sealand, Toyland, Noah's Arc and so much more!

I'm glad you had fun with Shoshana and Dael. Great pic of the sun over the water.
ReplyDeleteYou're in the home stretch!
Has it seemed to go by quickly for you? You spent a lot of time preplanning for this trip... I wonder if it matched your vision(s) of what it might be like. I'm excited to see you next week, and hear both of you share the story's and details beyond the posts & pics on your blog.
love, dad ( 8 -) }
